High demand for this spring's Leader checks - here are the 8 associations that got a yes from us.

From youth karaoke to Finnish celebrations and guidance on historical trails

Many associations wanted to apply for this spring's Leader check, and the competition was tough for the over 100,000 kronor that were available in this round. A total of 17 complete applications were submitted to us, and of those, 8 received a yes for their respective checks amidst tough competition. You can find them in the list below. The next round of the Leader check will have the theme of preparedness and will open in mid-May. Stay tuned!

• Broaryd's community association will purchase a bench set for the new multi-sport arena that has been built next to the schoolyard in Broaryd. The benches will allow more people to be at the multi-arena, for example, grandparents who want to be part of the audience.

• Gryteryd's local heritage association will organize karaoke meetings for children and youth. The meetings will create community through song and music and stimulate more new activities in the gathering place Sockenstugan.

• Finnish association Gislaved is celebrating 60 years and will celebrate by inviting to competition days with events such as rubber boot throwing, dart throwing, and remote-controlled cars. The association hopes to attract children, youth, and adults regardless of their connection to Finnish culture.

• Valdshult's village association will set up a new barbecue area with benches just next to the bathing area at Vallsjön. The barbecue area will become a pleasant gathering place that also reduces the risk of fires in inappropriate places.

• Equmenia Vaggeryd will develop its cottage Skomakarebygget for scout hikes and day camps and has previously received support from the General Inheritance Fund to build a toilet building and dining area. They will receive the check to purchase composting toilet barrels for the building.

• IOGT-NTO Västbo-Värnamo will, in collaboration with Smålandsstenar car corps and Movendi Snöklockan Reftele, organize an open lecture on preparedness with Eva Blomqvist, national car corps chief. With the lecture, they want to increase knowledge about personal preparedness in a troubled time.

• Öreryd's local heritage association will focus on guiding the Trench Trail through QR codes where visitors, such as school classes or tourists, can access images, texts, and stories that bring the historical site to life.

• Skivaryd's collector club will start regular youth activities and holiday activities. To get started, the association will purchase, among other things, dartboards, cabinets for collector cards, and a golf mat.
