About the lecture:
Most of us are used to having drinking water from the tap, that we can buy the food we need at our local grocery store or order online, we search for recipes and information about food online. This system is currently sustainable. Even though municipalities are upgrading and there will be help available, we are expected to manage completely on our own for (at least) a week. So what do we need to consider to strengthen our food and water preparedness?
During this lecture, we will discuss ways we can strengthen our local food systems, how we access water, how we make our own water filters, and how we manage food waste. We will look at a simple stove we can make from large cans, so that we can easily cook even if we don't have a camping stove (or fuel to use the stove!).
The event is part of the project ”Rusta bygden! – Västra Småland” which is co-financed by the European Union. During 2026 and 2027, we are investing a little extra in preparedness to strengthen the ability to handle future crises in our area. We invite you to various free events, particularly focusing on food in crisis.
