Meeting Place Marieholm
A meeting place across generational boundaries – that keeps the history of the industry alive for the future.
About the project
The Marieholm Community Association has the project idea to create a hub where several generations can meet year-round. The meeting place will include a playground, barbecue area, sledding hill, pétanque court, and a smaller stage.
The hope is that the meeting place will spark new interest in Marieholm's industry and the local cultural heritage that the ironworks represents – and attract new visitors to Marieholm.

The board's motivation
The activities of the Community Association constitute an important part of the living, present-day Marieholm and its development of cultural heritage. The planned meeting place targets children and families in a new way and adds new experiential values in the meeting between cultural history and children's play and adventure. The initiative benefits both the municipality and the tourism industry.
