Strengthen the community! – Western Småland
Isn't it time to start talking about preparedness with the neighbors?
About the project
Drought, wildfires, storms, and cyber warfare. What do we actually do if we face a major crisis in the future? Perhaps a good start is to talk with the neighbors! In the project, communities in Western Småland will receive help to develop their own local preparedness plans. We will also invite the public to knowledge-enhancing activities related to food in crisis.
We at Leader Western Småland are driving this project to raise local preparedness but also to increase knowledge about preparedness and what one can do oneself – both as a community and as an individual.
During 2025, we have held inspiration meetings about preparedness to inform about the opportunity to develop local preparedness plans with support from us. If your community is interested in starting a study circle, please feel free to contact us.

The board's motivation
The project idea aligns well with the needs that civil society must become aware of – when crises and disasters strike. The activities should contribute to inspiring civil society to increased knowledge and networking. Planning also includes practical knowledge on how households can secure their supply of food. The project targets the entire Lleader area and emphasizes reaching the younger generation.
