Climate-smart vegetable production meets long-term entrepreneurship in Hillinge garden's Leader project.
About the project
Hillinge Garden AB in Skärstaddalen has the project idea to develop its business, which works with small-scale cultivation and sales through self-service shop, local markets, REKO-ring, and vegetable subscriptions. The concept is a dig-free method inspired by Market gardening and community-supported agriculture.
To increase sales and employment rates, the idea is to focus on streamlining its operations and making it sustainable over time. The Leader support will go to purchase harvesting crates, two-wheeled tractor with tools, and cooling container to store vegetables between harvest and sale.

The board's motivation
Good opportunity for the development of existing operations and for a long-term business in the countryside, which ensures jobs. Hillinge Garden AB has a good geographical location, with a good influx of both passing tourists and those living in the local area. The project can meet customers' desire to shop climate-smart, locally, seasonally, and sustainably. The project will also contribute to an increased self-sufficiency rate in the area, as well as spreading more knowledge about different types of crops through information in the subscription boxes.
