Does your association want to apply for 5,000-30,000 kronor from us to test a new idea? Then it is high time to gather the other enthusiasts and discuss how it should be done! During the month of February, associations in Västra Småland can apply for the Leader check again. It is our smallest and most convenient support, which we, unlike our large project support, handle entirely ourselves. You apply directly to us and receive a response from us in mid-March. Read more at our page for the Leader check.

Q&A
What can you get support for?
Costs associated with testing something new. This can, for example, be to purchase equipment, hire a speaker, or rent a venue. We provide support for:
• Ideas that contribute to new meeting places, leisure activities, or cultural activities
• Ideas in the field of environmental and climate issues. This could be ideas related to food waste, invasive species, pollinators, circular solutions like clothing swap events, or something completely different.
• Study circles, events, lectures, study visits, and shorter training sessions – simply put, things that can increase knowledge about something or create new networks that are needed in the community.
• Ideas in the field of preparedness, which can strengthen the association and the community for future crises.
What can you NOT get support for?
We do not provide support for salary costs or for ongoing operational costs/regular activities. The idea must be new! It is also not possible to apply for a Leader check for something you have already completed by the application date.
Who can apply?
Non-profit associations in the following municipalities: Gnosjö, Gislaved, Vaggeryd, and in Jönköping (not Jönköping city).
What have others received support for?
Among previous support, we have everything from apple pressing days to beginner courses for aspiring brass musicians, preparation of a venue for new youth activities, textile recycling for people with mental health issues, and film screenings of local historical films. We have distributed many Leader checks over the years and are happy to brainstorm ideas with you if you want before you submit your application. The most important thing is that you consider and motivate why the idea is innovative. Can you perhaps collaborate with another association and do something together for the first time? Do you want to work to reach a new target group? Or do you want to start an activity or event that you have never had before? Then you are on the right track!
How do you do it?
Go to our page for the Leader check HERE. There you will find everything you need to know and where you can download the application form. There you should answer questions about the idea and create a budget. You also need to send in documentation so that we can see how you arrived at the amounts. It can be a quote you have received or just a screenshot of a price on a website. If you have questions, you can always contact us at the office and we will help!
What happens after the application?
You will receive a response from us as soon as the decision group has met and reviewed all applications. They check among other things how innovative the idea is and ensure that it meets our requirements. We always try to give you a response as quickly as we can. If it is a yes from us, it is good to get started! The association needs to cover the costs themselves and can then submit a report and receive the money from us. Good luck!
